Here are some tips to get your home prepared to weather the South Texas heat while keeping you cool. It’s a small investment that could save you a lot of time and money down the road.
Indoor To-Do’s:

Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if necessary

Have your air conditioner inspected and serviced

Clean and inspect ceiling fans. Make sure fan blades are spinning counterclockwise to push cool air down and throughout your home

Have your chimney professionally cleaned

Change air conditioning filter

Check attic for leaks, moisture damage, and signs of pest infestation
